Anthony Seaman Chosen as IPMA's President Elect
Anthony Seaman, CGCM, the Director of Brand Creative Services at the University of Mississippi, has been elected to the position of President-Elect for the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association. "I am looking forward to Tony joining the Board," says IPMA President John Sarantakso. "I have known Tony for a long time and he will be an awesome addition to the leadership team."
"It is with a great sense of gratitude and humility that I accept the position. I would like to thank all of those people that help in the election process: the nomination committee, IPMA staff, IPMA's Board, and especially Charlotte Holden who was gracious enough to agree to be a front running candidate," explains Seaman. "Of course the voting membership makes the whole process complete.
I look forward to a learning process, assuming I am teachable, that will help guide us into the ever changing world of print. Membership is critical and I ask each of you to continue to provide growth opportunities within your organizations both personally
and professionally." |

Print Shop Flags Down Customers
When entering the bustling Print Shop at Connecticut College in New London, your eyes are immediately drawn above the mountains of printed documents to the colorful collection of 19 flags draping the walls. "We started collecting flags from students about three years ago," explains Chris Barclay, the Manager of Printing and Mailing Services. "We have several students from various countries around the world and of course from every state. Some of the flags have especially significant meanings. The American flag, for example, came off my dad's casket."
Another flag of interest is from Peru. Our student employee from Peru tells us that it is the flag for the people." At times we'll have
students come in because they had heard about the flags," explains Barclay. "I think they want to see if their flag is hanging up. We tell them, you too can have a flag on the wall. Everybody loves the concept and it opens the doors for opportunities to put a smile on someone's face. This
a great source of advertising too." |
