What is Group Therapy?
Group therapy is a form of counseling in which a small number of people (5-10) come together under the guidance of a professionally trained therapist to help themselves and one another. Group therapy has been widely used and has been a standard and effective treatment option for over 50 years. In group, not only do clients receive tremendous understanding, support, and encouragement from others facing similar issues, but they also gain different perspectives on those issues. Why Group Therapy? Group therapy, like individual therapy, is a powerful vehicle for growth and change, and is intended to help people who would like to gain support, increase self- awareness, and learn new ways to cope with personal or interpersonal challenges. Group therapy is a wonderful place to make personal changes and practice new behaviors in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. I am currently accepting clients for 3 groups: |
