PLL Summit Registration Deadline is June 29 - Register Today

The PLL Summit will be here before we know it!   This one day program offers a variety of speakers and panels which will cover some of the most compelling strategies, tools and technologies for law librarians in our rapidly changing information world.

Leveraging Technology for Better Services,  Collaboration and Organization

This afternoon track will be moderated by Ellyssa Kroski, Manager of Information Systems at New York Law Institute, as well as a best-selling author.

The first session in this track, Social Media Collaboration for Law Firms, will feature speaker Camille Reynolds, of Fenwick and West. Ms. Reynolds will explore how social media technologies such as wikis, microblogging applications, and online productivity tools, are enabling us to get organized, collaborate, and communicate within the library. This session will explore how law libraries are utilizing these social media tools to increase efficiency, store digital assets, collaborate, interact, and share with fellow librarians and law firm staff.

Next,  Stacy Hinkel of DLA Piper, will cover Electronic Resource Management (ERM) in Law Firms. As more and more libraries move to electronic formats to deliver articles, documents, and other digital assets to their patrons, Electronic Resource Management becomes a critical part of the everyday business of libraries. This panel will discuss the concepts behind ERM as more than an ILS tool but a philosophy or workflow process.

Finally, we will move into a discussion of Training Technologies. In a time of ubiquitous computing, lawyers work everywhere. How can libraries deliver training and educational opportunities to attorneys regardless of location? This session will discuss options for creating on-demand training opportunities using new and emerging technologies such as e-books, Web conferencing applications, podcasting software, and more.

Billy Long To Speak at PLL Summit Luncheon

The Summit Luncheon speaker will be Congressman Billy Long, a freshman legislator from Missouri.  Congressman Long recently wowed the crowd at the Washington Press Club Foundation dinner.  He will speak on How a Bill Becomes Law - In Real Life!  We would like to extend a special thanks to Thomson Reuters for sponsoring the PLL Summit Luncheon and speaker.
