International Trade Commission (ITC) Research - Tips from the Pros

11:00 am Pacific, 2:00 pm Eastern

Description:

The International Trade Commission
(ITC) operates very differently from other IP court venues; cases move through quickly, its precedent is self-contained, and the outcome has extremely high stakes for the litigating companies, allowing infringing products to be stopped at the US border.  This means that legal research for the ITC is often a "get the answer now" proposition and the various types of documents and proceedings are strange to those unfamiliar with this unique venue.

In this 45 minute webinar, Sharon Lindsey West of ITC Research will present an overview of how the ITC works generally, the most important types of documents, how to dig in and find esoteric data, how to determine outcomes, and a few specific techniques to answer market research questions.

Presenter Bio:

Sharon Lindsey West has worked closely with ITC documents as co-founder and President of www.itcresearch.com for the past four years.

  • Participants will understand obstacles specific to searching for ITC records and strategies for overcoming these obstacles
