President's Message:
Women now outnumber men in American colleges nationwide. That reversal of the gender gap is a very recent phenomenon. The fight to learn was a valiant struggle waged by many women throught the years and across cultures in our country. March is Women's History Month and I encourage you to join me in celebrating.
The Sky-Hy Chapter, founded July 1970, gives us our own place in history. Our mission to support women annually with scholarship funds has touched many lives here in WNC. It's your individual contribution to our local fund raising efforts that make this gift possible. As we meet monthly to network, hear educational programs, and support one another professionally, our goal is to encourage women to be the best than can be - in all they do.
If you're looking to enhance your current career or to move in a new direction, consider WIN (Women's Instructional Network) as the means to reach your goal. Would you put money on a prepaid credit card and then just let it sit there? I challenge you to spend a few minutes on the ABWA WIN website during the month of March. I promise there is something for everyone.
Join your ABWA sisters across the nation in celebrating Women's History Month by reaching out to someone you admire. Invite her to join us on Friday March 16th at The Wine Studio. All proceeds support our local Scholarship Fund...making history by touching women's lives one woman at time! Pamela Pistor

Vice President's Message:
Spring is near, and as the weather blooms brighter, plants and flowers will begin to flourish our scenery with color and fragrance. March reminds me of the four leaf clover, which brings good luck to its finders. Each leaf represents a significant meaning: faith, love, hope, and luck.
With our March fundraiser approaching, remember to share a clover ( in our case, an invitation to our event) with all your friends. Encourage everyone you know to share an evening with our organization, as we gather to raise funds for our scholarship fund. The funds we raise will allow our organization to share a clover with a local aspiring female college student. In addition to raising funds, we will be crowning our next Woman of the Year. Remember to send your applications to Alice, so you can receive a year full of lucky clovers! See you Thursday! Brooke Stambersky
