While browsing J.R.LIGGETT.com recently, I moseyed on over to the 'Letters' category. The comments we receive are real eye openers, and solid confirmation that J.R.LIGGETT'S products simply can't be beat. Across the country and around the world, your remarks consistently prove that J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bars are found to perform above and beyond the call of duty!

Over and again, we see that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and other harsh ingredients have been the culprit in more cases of hair, scalp and skin issues than we can count... thin, dry, frizzy, tangled, or dull hair, scalp itchiness, open sores, red spots, bumps, dandruff, psoriasis, eczema, allergies, and even those who find themselves 'follicle challenged'. It's not always a pretty picture, but thankfully, J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bar has been working miracles for many of you. In September of 2008, Jesse wrote that the shampoo bar was "truly a Godsend", and she had "noticed a difference right away..." her hair felt light, clean, and soft, scalp no longer itched, bumps were gone in less than a week, and her facial problems were clearing up. She swears that J.R.LIGGETT'S products are "hidden jewels in our society". I say let's bring those jewels out and show 'em off! Let 'em shine!

In January of 2008, S.H. asked, "Where have you been all my life"? This person had suffered from dry skin and dermatitis, especially on their hands, for decades. They found 'non-soaps', and prescription medicines ineffective. Within a few uses of J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bar/soap, their hands were smoother, and the itchy spots were no longer a problem... S.H. rejoiced in the fact that they were finally free from slathering on creams and ointments at night. Simply put, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate irritates the skin--period. And SLS infested liquid shampoo suds irritate the facial skin, neck, shoulders, back, and hands. This is a perfect example of why an extra shampoo bar or the Foam Face & Body Wash should be placed within easy reach of the kitchen or bathroom sink-- no more SLS, no more irritation.

We wholeheartedly agree with the woman who said upon realizing the dangers of the bad chemicals in most liquid shampoos, she knew she had to get rid of her shampoos and conditioners and find a product that was "all natural". In January of 2004, Suzanne said, "I like that I am not using chemicals on my hair and scalp. I especially like that I am not adding to the non-biodegradable garbage hitting the landfills. I also like that I am not adding to the chemical 'runoff' damaging our water supply. Think of all the time and water we save by not having to condition our hair after stripping everything from it with ordinary shampoo". J.R.LIGGETT Ltd. has also received praise and admiration for "minimal packaging, natural ingredients, no animal testing or animal products used, and for using socially-progressive production practices". "User friendly and earth friendly". "Low impact, natural ingredients". This is what we love to hear!

African-American users have also sung the praises of the J.R.LIGGETT'S Dry Damaged Hair formula, rejoicing in the fact that they no longer needed the oils, butters, or pomades that are often recommended for dry, brittle or kinky hair. You have also told us that long, wavy, frizzy and curly hair becomes a 'tangling' issue... previously you had to use a conditioner or 'no tangles' product to be able to get a comb through your hair, but with the shampoo bar, these problems are no longer an issue.

Medical issues have also surfaced in your comments, and we are pleased to hear that the shampoo bar alleviated some distressing problems. Liza, a cancer survivor (Maine 2002), mentioned how chemotherapy treatments caused her hair loss... when her hair grew back in, it was curly, thicker, and fuller (a common effect of chemo), but the shampoos she used stripped the curl and wave. Her mother, who had suffered hair loss herself from alopecia, shared her Tea Tree and Hemp Oil bar. Liza, claims, "It is now the only shampoo I will use." She went on to say that her mother's condition had led to complete baldness which necessitated wearing a wig... however, after using J.R.LIGGETT'S Tea Tree and Hemp Oil shampoo bar, "she now has hair and does not need to wear a wig"! Hair loss from sudden weight loss (Marsha 2000) and male pattern baldness (Susan 1996), were also alleviated by using J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bar resulting in "shiny and healthy looking, full, bouncy hair". In 2002, Linda had lost about half of her hair due to "harsh detergents in commercial shampoos". At that time, she was also receiving treatment for Hepatitis C, and the drugs had made her hair dry and brittle. If you are into traveling 'lite', take special note of what Bridget and a few others did... Tim (November 2008) sailed from Annapolis Maryland to Bermuda, and carried the Natural Traveler with shampoo bar. "Was perfect for the trip...I always felt clean and it was much nicer having just one bar for everything..." Mickey (March 2006) "I've been to Italy on construction trips twice and was pleased that your shampoo bar also made an excellent body soap. Space was very limited for personal gear and taking such a compact product for all my washing needs was great". The stories and experiences go on and on... multitasking, simplicity, convenience, space savers, money savers, a "high quality, safe, effective, low impact product that performs in so many great ways".

J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bar is already known for it's multi-tasking abilities, but you've let us in on a not-so-secret secret... you've bathed your dogs with the bar and have had excellent results... and why not? It's known to be mild and not strip our natural skin oils... Monica uses it on her 3 active, outdoor dogs. Noel's (January 2010) dog 'Larry' is bathed at least once a week and has a "luxurious coat". The shampoo bar "does not dry out his skin and he has healthy skin". Another shampoo bar user's Corgi has been treated to a wonderful washing with J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo and "his hot spots are gone"! Pampered pets use J.R. LIGGETT'S shampoo bar... "I especially liked the easy rinse out for her". (Char November 2005) And listen to 'Chester's' story: "My dog Chester had fleas really badly so I used 'Program'...but all he did was get worse by scratching chewing and itching himself. After a period of time, poor Chester had an intractable skin rash. His skin turned black over large areas and he lost a lot of his hair. So, yes, you guessed it, I used your shampoo on him and his skin cleared, and his hair grew back"!

You keep us smiling too... from Eleanna, the 87 year old woman (March 2008) who even though she has used J.R.LIGGETT'S shampoo bar for many years, she only purchases one bar at a time because, "as the saying goes, "I don't buy green bananas..." Or, Kathleen (February 2007) who's pretty darn excited that all of J.R's products "are gluten free"... Or Laura (March 2004) who said of the hemp face wash after using some products that left her skin greasy or tight: "Yours was right in the middle, where it should be. My skin felt clean but not dry... Yours was the bowl of porridge that was JUST RIGHT"!

"My Dad worked in Sales for over 20 years with a little company by the name of Proctor & Gamble selling for their toiletries division to all the major retail chains in the country. Since I was a small child, I have always used P&G products for my hair and body (products like Prell and Head & Shoulders) and some fifty years later, I have been converted. A friend gave me a bar of your Jojoba and Peppermint Bar eight days ago and suggested I try it as a shampoo, body wash and shaving cream".
