May 7th Town Meetings - Orleans, Mashpee, Bourne | |
There are important articles for Habitat for Humanity on three Town Meeting warrants this spring - all scheduled for May 7.
Orleans: $615,000 in Community Preservation Act funds will support the purchase, and some site development costs, for land on Namskaket Road for five Habitat for Humanity homes. We are working in very close partnership with the town's Affordable Housing Committee on this; we have a signed purchase and sale for this property, which is contingent on Town Meeting approval.
Mashpee: $70,000 in Community Preservation Act funds to support construction at 6 & 9 Park Place, Mashpee. The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) & the Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee will lend their strong support for this article. However, with an unusual split vote by the Selectmen on this article, we especially look to our friends in Mashpee for helping garner approval for this funding.
Bourne: $30,000 in Community Preservation Act funds to support construction of one home at 6 Flintlock Lane.
Please feel free to call Vicki Goldsmith, Executive Director 508-362-3559 x15 or Leedara Zola, Director of Land Acquisition and Site Development (x 18) with any questions about these articles.

Cheers and Kudos! | | Dinner Your Way at St. Mary of the Harbor this past Sunday was a great success raising over $1200 to support Faith Build 2012! Special thanks to Martha Wilson, Mollie Steele, Diane Rose and their fabulous core of volunteers. |
Spring Appeal | | Thanks to all that have responded so generously to our Spring Appeal. Your financial support will allow us to continue our work - giving local families in need the opportunity to help build their own home alongside community volunteers - and then purchase it on terms they can afford to pay with their Cape Cod wages. If you haven't had a chance to read about our homebuilding plans for the coming year, please click here to learn more. We are determined to make a difference for these families in the coming year, but we can't do it without your help! Please consider supporting our homebuilding program this spring. Your financial gift will provide much-needed stability and security for families on Cape Cod. |
Video of Orleans Dedication | | Did you miss the dedication of our newest Habitat house in Orleans?
Thanks to Dave Teffer, you can catch it with Dave's video.
