Throw a party for a cause
Summer months bring graduations, birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, and a host of other special occasions. Make your parties tons of fun and affordable by checking out some of our entertaining ideas in this month's newsletter.

Party on!
4thofjuly
Did you know that party planning can be fun, frugal, and fantastic? With some creativity and a walk through your local Impact Thrift Store, you can pull together an entire party with ease and grace. All you need is a little bit of imagination, a good friend, and an hour or two and you'll be amazed at the variety of items that can serve as props for numerous themes. From tables and chairs to linens and centerpieces, we were able to put together this Fourth-of-July-themed tablescape for pennies compared to what the equivalent would cost in other stores.

Once you get started with a few items that evoke the central theme or

idea of your party, you'll realize how easy it is to incorporate things that you (or grandmom) already own! We call this a "repurposed party" -  use what you have and reuse what ends up on our shelves. Worried about storing the items afterwards? Re-donate them to Impact and make a difference in the community! Interested in doing even more? Throw a repurposed party and ask each guest to bring items to leave and donate to Impact after!

Summer Fun with Food at Manna on Main Street
teencooking
Manna is one of the 17 charities that Impact Thrift financially supports. Manna is a nonprofit that runs a soup kitchen, food pantry, and offers numerous local resources to those in need. This summer Manna is proud to bring back the Teen Summer Cooking Program. For just $5 (for the whole summer!), teens are eligible to participate in an interactive culinary experience with Manna's chef over a 10 week period. Teens learn basic cooking techniques, how to read a recipe, and to work as a team. Their efforts go towards a good cause as all meals prepared are then served at the soup kitchen. Interested? Register here.
Other ways to help include volunteering or donating food, especially fresh food! Check out their website here.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:5-6
