| This Month at Impact Thrift Stores... |
|
|
"...February is so boring..." Dear Friends of Impact,
We took a small survey and found that February is regarded as one of the most boring months of the entire year. Perhaps some of you agree. Well, we don't blame you. In February things have finally settled down after the holidays (unless you count Valentine's day as legit), spring is still too far off to get excited about, and hibernation seems like a viable option some days! So what to do with February? Hopefully, we've got some answers for you. Read on to find out more!
Sincerely,
The Impact Team

| What to do with February? |
Love Your Library Believe it or not, February is "Library Lovers'" month so why not build yours by shopping Impact's extensive book collections? Or, if your library is overflowing already, show some love by cleaning out those shelves and donating your books to Impact Thrift. You might also want to check out the different programs at your local library to see how you can support them this month! Click here for more information.
Bake for Family Fun
Yes, February is the month of family baking, and there's even a website to prove it! Click here for some great recipes and activity ideas for families. For inspiring new bake ware, visit Impact Thrift for all sorts of fun finds at unbeatable prices.
Youth Leadership Month
Take some time to celebrate the young people around you who have taken on leadership roles and encourage those who have not done so to get started! Impact Thrift offers volunteer and internship opportunities through our educational department. Please e-mail the education program director, Frank Hartwell, at impactstoresed@comcast.net for info.
Wave at Your Neighbors Day, Feb. 7th.
For one day (at least!), put aside all squabbles about overgrown shrubbery, questionable property lines, and gaudy yard decorations and wave at your neighbors. It's a small effort, but it just might go a long way. And if you really get along, team up with your neighbors to host an Impact neighborhood donation drive. Contact impactkelli@comcast.net for more information.
Surprise Your Sweetheart!
Make this Valentine's Day memorable by giving back. Plan a volunteer date with your sweetheart or give to a local charitable organization in honor of your loved one. And remember that Impact Thrift gift certificates are always available for the thrift store junkies among us.
Still Not Sure what to do with February? Go through your closet, basement, bedroom, doghouse, wherever, and gather together all those things that you no longer need and donate them to Impact! You'll be amazed at how good a little purging is for the soul - and it all goes to charity so what are you waiting for? | |

Impact Thrift would like to introduce to you one of our newest charities, Chariots for Hope. Chariots is a new and exciting organization based out of Dresher, PA. Their ambitious goal is to raise money to sustain children's homes in Kenya, East Africa. These homes protect, nurture, and educate orphans who would otherwise be on the streets.
Impact Thrift has taken on one of these children's homes and is very excited about the opportunity to support the kids! Your continued support of Impact Thrift makes protecting these precious orphans possible. Thanks!
If you're interested in the work that Chariots for Hope is doing and would like to get involved, please visit their website.

Make Your Own: Book Lamp
This charming take on repurposing utilizes some old books, a lamp making kit (found at your nearest hardware store), and a little bit of imagination! You can easily find books a'plenty here at Impact, along with a varied selection of lampshades, so don't be afraid to give this project a try. A modified version includes using an old vase instead of the books so let us know how this works out for you. E-mail your repurposed projects to impactkelli@comcast.net. We'd love to hear from you!
