Happy New Year from Impact Thrift Stores!
Issue #1 |
|
| Dear Friends of Impact,
Welcome to our first monthly e-newsletter! Thanks to you and so many others, we have successfully begun our switch from print to electronic newsletter. As you might know, this shift will save Impact over $10,000.00 this year alone, enabling us to give more money away to the charities that you help us support. In addition, we hope that this switch will be advantageous for you as we work together towards thoughtful stewardship of our environmental resources.
We are so excited about what this new year brings for all of us here at Impact and for all of you as you continue to partner with us. Thank you for your faithful shopping, donations, and advocacy on our behalf.
Sincerely,
The Impact Team! |

Some people are especially gifted with the ability to see potential in forgotten or unwanted things. The good news for the rest of us is that we too can create decorative masterpieces with the help of a few creative ideas and a healthy dose of will power. These days there are numerous step-by-step how-to's to refinishing furniture or repurposing items in ways that would make Martha Stewart proud. The best part is that these projects really aren't that difficult! Each month we will be featuring a project involving some of the common items you can find here at Impact. We hope you'll be surprised and excited about the possibilities that lie just within our isles...
How to Refinish a Dresser
Next time you're in the store, take a look at the dressers we have. Some are new, some are old, some are painted, others stained- they all have seen at least a few years of use but who's saying that's a bad thing? Why not refinish one of the old beauties and restore it back to its glory days 2010 style? Check out this link to see a step-by-step guide to refinishing furniture. The result is beautiful and the possibilities are limitless when you take a piece that has great lines and re-capture its potential.
Got any Ideas? We'd love to hear from you about the items you've gotten from Impact and transformed into something wonderful. Whether you've refinished a piece or made it into something else, we'd love to hear about your projects! E-mail impactkelli@comcast.net to share. |
