Greetings!
Did you know that some Memphis fertility specialists will only treat married women? You read that right. If you are a single woman, a widow, or a woman in a committed same sex relationship, certain local practices will not accept you as their patient.
At the Memphis Center for Reproductive Health, we trust each woman to make her own decisions about when and whether to become a parent. This includes making Assisted Reproductive Technologies available to any woman who needs help fulfilling her dreams of becoming pregnant. We are also happy to work with surrogates.
You can read below about another MCRH service that reaffirms our commitment to true choices for every woman. Our new Options Counseling appointments, made independently from any other service, are designed to inform women facing an unintended pregnancy about all their options, and to provide referrals and support for any decision they make.

Comprehensive Pregnancy Options  Counseling Now Available
For many women an unintended pregnancy means making difficult decisions. MCRH now offers comprehensive Pregnancy Options Counseling appointments separate from any other service to help a woman know more about all her options.
Clients meet privately with an experienced counselor who provides non-judgmental information on the options of parenting, adoption, and abortion. The counselor will provide the client with information on local resources available to support any decision she makes, including information on prenatal care, child care and government services for low-income families, state regulations and local options for private and agency adoptions, and information on costs and availability of medication and surgical abortions.

MCRH Awarded $118,000 in Ryan White Funds
The Memphis Center for Reproductive Health was recently awarded $118,000 in funding through Shelby County and the federal Ryan White Program to provide reproductive health and general gynecological care to women living with HIV/AIDS in Shelby County. The Ryan White Program funds services for people living with HIV/AIDS who need care but can't afford it.
According to MCRH Assistant Director Jennifer Marshall "gynecological healthcare is an important, and often neglected, component of ongoing HIV medical care for women living with HIV/AIDS. These women need and deserve careful evaluation for and treatment of reproductive health issues, including STI testing and treatment, family planning, preconception planning, and basic GYN care."
