Brookfield's Spring Break Vacation Camp will run from April 11th through April 15th.  Students in PreSchool through 1st grade can enjoy art, science, cooking and more in vacation camp.  Students in 2nd through 8th grade can sign up for Science Camp or Lego Camp.  Sign up today!

This Friday will be the fourth of five sessions of the Mount Rose Youth Lessons.  In the event that this week's lessons are cancelled, we will announce this during Friday assembly if known at that time.  We will also update the white board in the front of the school.  You can visit the Mount Rose website at

www.mtrose.com to receive condition updates.

There will be no formal, scheduled Friday make-up for last week's cancelled lessons.  All Brookfield families enrolled in Youth Ski programs should have received a card from Mount Rose in the mail.  Present this card to the Mount Rose personnel to claim your make-up session from last week.

Correction:  The silver scarf found on Main Campus was left after the Valentine's Gram labeling in the Art Room.  Stop by the office is this is yours

Main Campus

We will be holding our annual Science Invent/Event on Wednesday, March 30th at 5:00 PM in the Great Room.  Join us to see the students' wonderful inventions and science experiments.  Each Pre-1st class will have their group project and students in grades 1st - 8th will present individual inventions or experiments.   The office has sold out of presentation boards; you can find them at Target or WalMart.

The Leadership Council will be sponsoring a Bake Goods and Finger Foods Sale at the Science Invent/Event.  They would appreciate any items which can be packaged individually for sale, such as sandwiches, baby carrots, or cookies.  If you are able to donate any items, please drop them off in the Great Room before 4:00 PM on the day of the event.  Proceeds will support Leadership Council student body directed activities.  Thank you for your support!

Achievement Testing is scheduled for the week of April 4th - 8th (unless otherwise notified by your teacher).  Please reschedule your child's morning appointments during this week and have your child well rested and well fed.  Testing starts promptly at the beginning of the school day.  Late students must come directly to the office until the next section of testing begins, at which time he/she will be escorted to the classroom.  Friday tests are scheduled this year.  Please call the office in advance if you have a conflict.

Afterschool Activities:

The next session of Chess Club begins April 8th.  Chess Club meets every Friday in the Great Room from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.  Fliers went home last week.

Our all-school themes for the month of March are Dr. Seuss's Birthday, Green Eggs and Ham, the Rain Forest, St. Patrick's Day, Community Helpers, and Learning about sometimes Sunny, sometimes Stormy Weather!

That pesky little Leprechaun!  He got away on yet another St. Patrick's Day after destroying the classrooms!  At least he left us some goodies...we'll get him next year!

Congratulations to our Super Student of the Week, Ayyan V.

Miss Reddin and her Panda Bears will be conducting this week's assembly.  Please join us Friday, March 25th at 9:15 AM!

The TLC Annual Book Fair opens TODAY, Wednesday, March 23rd and will run through Tuesday, March 29th.  Daily book fair hours will be 8:30 - 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM, and 2:30 - 4:00 PM.  Please join us TODAY from 2:30 - 5:30 PM for the grand opening and Carnival!  We will have face painting and fun!

All teachers will be attending the Nevada Early Childhood Conference on April 1st - 2nd.  Brookfield TLC will open and the Teacher Aides will be teaching the regular classes on Friday, April 1st.  The aides will be going to the conference on Saturday!  Forms went home to find out who will need care on Friday, April 1st.  Your prompt response is greatly appreciated so we may staff accordingly.

PTA News

Help us celebrate Earth with the unveiling of our new Interactive Garden & Play Space at Main Campus!  Please see the form that came home today; we would love your help with the finishing touches of our garden.  You can purchase an item for our garden such as a colorful metal flower, butterfly, planter box, or birdhouse.  We will place your family name on the item and your child can place it in our garden on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd.  Your family legacy will help create a natural and wholesome setting for our children and all Brookfield families for years to come!!  Please complete the form and return it to your classroom by Friday, April 8th.

You can view a diagram of our Interactive Garden and Play Space in the Main Campus office later this week...hopefully you will be as excited as we are!!"

Donations for annuals/perennials or "Bring Your Own Plant" will still be part of the celebration.   Thank you for all of your continued support.  You make Brookfield the best it can be for our children!
