Greetings!

It's hard to believe that August is already over and it's time to get back into our regular routines of work and school. If you're not ready to admit that we are quickly barreling toward the season of falling leaves, football games and apple cider, stop by the library on September 19 for something completely different. We'll be celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Join us to weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen on this carefree break from the ordinary. We'll being giving our pirate lingo the old heave ho. Whether you're a seadog or a landlubber, we'll be sure to greet you with a yo ho ho! |

September is Library Card Sign Up Month
What little card costs nothing at all and is at home in your pocket at ages 8, 18, and 80? A library card, of course!
During the month of September, new patrons who register for a card at the Amherst Town Library will receive a FREE library book bag.
Getting a library card is easy. Anyone living, working or owning property in Amherst is eligible for a card. Residents and property owners should present a photo ID and printed verification of address when applying for a card. Employees working in Amherst should bring a letter verifying employment signed by their employer. Children under age 12 should come with a parent. Non-residents attending Amherst schools are also eligible for a student card, valid year-round until graduation. For more information on how to sign up for a library card, visit the library, call 673-2288 or visit our website at www.amherst.lib.nh.us/eligibility.htm |

Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!
Sincerely,
Amherst Town Library
