Crime in Literature: Exploring Mystery and Detective Fiction Tuesday, March 27 at 7 PM
Professor Pennell loves discussing mystery and detective fiction with other readers! Focusing on traditions and innovations, Professor Pennell will offer an overview of the genre and how it has changed at certain points in time. She will also speak of the work of a few contemporary writers, such as Dennis Lehane, Kate Atkinson, Tana French, and Janet Evanovich, who are building on the legacy of the past, but adding new elements or experimenting with narrative form. A Celtic Celebration: Aubrie Dionne and Piper Runnion-Bareford in Concert Sunday, March 18th @ 4 PM
Come celebrate the season as The Amherst Town Library presents "A Celtic Celebration" with musicians Piper Runnion-Bareford on harp and Aubrie Dionne on flute. The concert includes some traditional Celtic songs such as "The Bonny Brown Maid," "Rug Muire," Mo Chaora Bhan," and "The Beardless Boy," along with a new piece called "A Celtic Interlude" by Barbara Mulree.
