Exploring American's Tackiest Tourist PhotosTuesday, February 28th at 7 PM
When you go on vacation, are you camera shy or do you aggressively pursue every amusement park mascot, funny road sign and goofy statue for a photo-op? If you fit into the first category, you will enjoy an evening of laughter at the Library viewing Darren Garnick's wonderful collection of tacky tourist photos. If you fit into the latter category, come participate in Amherst's Tacky Photo Night as Darren guides you through the Do's and Don'ts of silly travel photography.
As curator of TackyTouristPhotos.com, Garnick seeks contributions from your childhood vacation albums and your latest creative cell phone pics for possible inclusion in an offbeat coffee table book.
A small gallery of tacky tourist photos from Garnick's collection will also be available for viewing during the month of February in the Main Floor stairwell area at the Library. Take time to view the "gallery" and bring on some smiles in the wintry days of February. The "Stairwell Gallery" is sponsored by the Friends of the Amherst Town Library.
This presentation is free and open to the public. However, registration is REQUIRED for this program due to space limitations. Sign up now!

It's Not About the Hike
Tuesday, February 21 at 7 PM
This program highlights the journey of two 50 plus year old non-hikers who one day decided to climb the 67 mountains in New England over 4,000 feet. Nancy Sporborg and Pat Piper are two ordinary women who went on an extraordinary journey over the mountain summits and into their hearts. This presentation is NOT about the hike; it is an inspirational and motivational program about pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones, overcoming our fears, finding our passions and living our lives to the fullest.
This presentation is free and open to the public. However, registration is REQUIRED for this program due to space limitations. Sign up now!

Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!
Sincerely,
Amherst Town Library
