Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Amherst Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held at the Amherst Congregational Church, Church Street, Amherst, on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Preview for members only will be from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Memberships are available at the door.
Prices range from $.50 for children's books and mass market soft cover books to $1.00 for hardcover books and trade books. CD's and Books on Tape are $1.00. A collection of special books are priced somewhat higher but still within reasonable range. All of the books are sorted according to category, and the selection has traditionally been excellent. Approximately 95% of the 10,000 or so books are donated.
At 1:30 PM, the Bag of Books sale begins. In this sale, a paper bag full of books is $5.00. Charities interested in a selection of free books at the end of the sale should contact Nancy Head, 673-1389. |
