Welcome, Sarah!

We are pleased to introduce Sarah Hydorn, the library's new Head of Children and Young Adult Services.

Sarah is passionate about getting books into the hands of children. She is an active member of the NH Library Association's Great Stone Face Book (GSF) Committee, a group that annually reviews over one hundred children's books and prepares a list of the best twenty-five for readers in grades four through six. Sarah also plays the flute and pennywhistle as a member of the Lamprey River Band, playing traditional New England contra dance music.

Sarah comes to us from the Dover Public Library, where she has been working in the Children's Room for over 20 years. You may have met Sarah when she visited for a few Tuesday storytimes this summer. She will begin full time on September 1.
Historic Artwork Celebrating
Amherst's 250th Anniversary
  Needlepoint

The Friends of the Library is presenting an exhibition of historical artwork, now through the end of September. A variety of pieces have been gathered from Amherst's town buildings and museums. Among the many photographs, there will also be a sampler, needlepoint, and prints by local artists. Stop by to see how Amherst looked through the eyes of Amherst's citizens, artists, craftsmen, and photographers through the years.

Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!

Sincerely,

Amherst Town Library
