Welcome to our special Summer Reading Program feature issue. Please remember during the summer the library closes at 12:30pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays.
Summer Reading Program 2010
 
Registration for the summer reading program begins on Monday, June 21. Activities and events for all ages are planned throughout the summer.

CHILDREN
Mad Science Workshop- Wacky Water
Thursday, July 8th @ 2pm
Children will experiment with water molecules, check out a wave modulator and learn how water can "stick." They will even build their own rescue diver to take home! Registration is required. Ages 7 & up.

Magician Peter Boie
Monday, June 28 @ 4pm
Peter Boie, the self proclaimed Magician for Non-Believers, will offer mind blowing magic and side splitting comedy. Peter has a special place in his heart for libraries as he borrowed his first magic book from his local library at the age of eleven. All ages are welcome.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL
Eclipse Party

Thursday, June 24 @ 6pm
Celebrate the release of Eclipse!  Participants will watch previews and spoofs as well as play Twilight Trivia and create a piece of "Twilight" jewelry.  Refreshments will be served.  Ages 13 and up. Registration is required.

Board Game Afternoon
Thursday, July 1st @ 3pm
Do you like Apples to Apples? Battleship? Connect Four? We've got the games, so bring a friend and play! Ages 11 and up.
 
Wii Fun
Friday, July 2nd @ 2pm
Join us for a Wii competition! We'll play a variety of summer sports. Registration is required. Ages 11 and up.

ADULTS
Brewing in New Hampshire: An Informal History of Beer in the Granite State from Colonial Times to the Present
Tuesday, June 22 @ 7pm
Independent scholar and author, Glenn Knoblock, will present the fascinating history of New Hampshire's beer and ale brewing industry from Colonial days. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or a "tea-totaler" this lecture will be enjoyed. Sponsored in part by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.

An Introduction to Watercolor Painting
Wednesday, June 23 @ 1:30pm
An introduction to water color for people that have always wanted to try it. Work through a watercolor painting from start to finish. All levels are welcome. $10.00 materials fee. Kevin Dadoly, instructor.

Against the Grain
Tuesday, June 29 @ 7pm
Join us for a special presentation by Lynda Shortt from the Good Loaf Bakery in Milford. Lynda is the winner of the Best of NH 2010 Award for Bakery Bread. Each of her loaves is just a little different. She uses cheeses and different spices...it's all about experimentation! Come and learn from an expert in handcrafted artisan breads.

Flower Arranging Workshop
Wednesday, June 30 @ 1:30pm
Spend a summer afternoon exploring colorful combinations of summer flowers. Create a summer centerpiece. Kevin Dadoly and Karen Ufnal (Woodman's Florist), Instructors.

Learn to Knit
Wednesday, July 7 @ 1:30pm
Casting on and basic knit and purl stitches demystified.  Materials will be provided for class; feel free to bring your own needles and yarn. Kathy Mc Nally, Instructor
