Greetings!

If the sunny weather has you anxious to get outside, keep in mind that a quick visit to the library can help you maximize your enjoyment of the outdoors. Find books on landscaping, gardening, masonry and all types of home repair to plan for upcoming weekend projects. Pick up a museum pass and enjoy a stroll through the grounds at the Fells Historic Estate and Gardens on Lake Sunapee or the spectacular views from the trails at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA. Or check out a magazine such as Runner's World, Backpacker, Bicycling, Golf Digest, Outside, Sail, Organic Gardening, or Wildbird to help pass the days until spring finally comes into full bloom.

The Big Read: New Hampshire Reads
To Kill A Mockingbird

To Kill A MockingbirdThe Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library has organized a statewide program that asks everyone in New Hampshire to come together and read Harper Lee's classic, To Kill a Mockingbird. This is a great coming of age story, but also inspires many topics of discussion: who is a hero, the importance of standing up for what is right, the role of defense attorneys in society, relationships between the races, courage, justice and more.

Throughout the month of March, organizations across the Granite State will be holding film screenings, book discussions, presentations by local attorneys and appearances by Atticus Finch himself. For more information about "The Big Read: New Hampshire Reads To Kill a Mockingbird," including the calendar of events, links to follow the project on Twitter and Facebook, information about the many project partners, and links to the National Endowment for the Arts' Big Read site, visit www.bigreadnh.org.
Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!
