| Don't Miss the Action at the Iowa State Fair | The start of the 2011 Iowa State Fair is less than a month away. Iowa 4-H is excited to host special events that help Iowa's youth build skills in different project areas. This year, Iowa 4-H is hosting four competitive events throughout the fair, these events include: Stitch This!, Bratney Companies' 4-H Robotics Challenge, Cook This!, and the Iowa 4 -H Film Festival. These events would not be possible without our amazing sponsors: Stacey's Formalwear, Dogtown, Bratney Companies, Dahls, Iowa Pork Producers, Iowa Beef Industry Council, Iowa Turkey Federation, Cookies, Iowa Egg Council, and KCWI.
The Iowa 4-H Foundation is still seeking sponsorships for the Stitch This! and Cook This! events. These sponsorships help cover upkeep for the equipment, t-shirts and admission tickets for participants and volunteers, printing of promotional materials and other items as needed. If you would like to be a sponsor, or provide an in-kind donation for these events, please contact Karen Frank at kmnaig@gmail.com or (515) 294-1607. Honor Those Whom Have Impacted You in 4-H
|
With many county fairs underway and the Iowa State Fair only 26 days away, it's time to reflect on your 4-H experience. It's also time to think about the people whom have positively impacted you through 4-H.
Many of these great people have been, or will be inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
Inductees into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame represent the many people in Iowa who have contributed countless hours to the 4-H program. They work tirelessly to see that Iowa's youth have a great learning experience in a safe and fun environment. These adults have modeled volunteerism, community service, integrity, and leadership to Iowa's youth. Their legacy is the young people they have mentored who will in turn support the continuation of a 4-H program that builds Iowa's leaders. These individuals are inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Iowa State Fair on the last Sunday of the State Fair.
The Iowa 4-H Foundation's newly launched website has a Hall of Fame section where people can read inductees' stories, leave comments, or make donations in their honor. Visit the Iowa 4-H Foundation website, and honor those who have made a positive difference for you and/or your family.
