Challenge Cup

The 33rd Annual Challenge Cup with the Ocean City Marlin Club is postponed 1 week. Fishing will now be the 23 & 24th. Our apologies for any inconvenience but both clubs tournament directors felt this was best in light of the current forecast. 

Club boats that have fished at least one tournament are eligible to participate.  Entry is $350 with an optional $400 calcutta.  Fish 2 of 2 September 23 & 24th within 100 miles of the OC Sea Buoy. 

Here is a link to the tournament brochure with more information.  Cape May boats should be registered already.  Calcutta and Entry funds must be paid to the Cape May tournament directory by the Wednesday prior. 

Tournament events include appetizers, beer and wine on Thursday night, Italian Night on Friday and an Awards Banquet Saturday.  In addition, there will be a host of other dysfunctional non-sanctioned activities emanating from Teasers and reaching most parts of OC. Tournament events are included in the entry fee for 6 people.  Additional tickets are available for $50 per person to help cover event costs. 

Sunset Marina continues to be a very generous host for this event.  We are following up with them to confirm slips for the rescheduled dates.

The Challenge Cup has become a highlight of the season for many of our members as well as members of the Ocean City club.  It's a great time and competitive, generating the stories and memories that survive the generations and a friendly rivalry we all enjoy. 

Many of you will recall that we lost last year by a handful of points so the scoreboard reads OC +1.  Let's move the dial to CM +1 in 2011!
