Challenge Cup

We are just 8 days away from the 33rd Annual Challenge Cup!  The captains meeting for Cape May boats is this Friday 9/9 at 7pm, at the Cape May club.  Club boats that have fished at least one tournament are eligible to participate.  Entry is $350 with an optional $400 calcutta.  Fish 2 of 2 September 16 & 17 within 100 miles of the OC Sea Buoy. 

Here is a link to the tournament brochure with more information.  Cape May boats should register at this Friday's Cape May Captains Meeting and make payment to the Cape May club. 

Tournament events include appetizers, beer and wine on Thursday night, Italian Night on Friday and an Awards Banquet Saturday.  In addition, there will be a host of other dysfunctional non-sanctioned activities emanating from Teasers and reaching most parts of OC. Tournament events are included in the entry fee for 6 people.  Additional tickets are available for $50 per person to help cover event costs. 

Sunset Marina continues to be a very generous host for this event.  This year slip fees will be collected but credited to your fuel purchase.  Look at it as a complimentary slip or an awesome deal on fuel, either way it's appreciated.

The Challenge Cup has become a highlight of the season for many of our members as well as members of the Ocean City club.  It's a great time and competitive, generating the stories and memories that survive the generations and a friendly rivalry we all enjoy. 

Many of you will recall that we lost last year by a handful of points so the scoreboard reads OC +1.  Let's move the dial to CM +1 in 2011!
