Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club
Tournament Season KickOff2011

Jr. Angler Tournament

The annual Jr. Angler tournament is scheduled for this weekend and it looks like our tournament director Eldon Poole has put together another nice event.  This will be an in-shore only tournament that is open to all Jr. Anglers.  There are some nice awards and this is always a great time so find some kids and let them show you a thing or two about catching.  The weigh ins are at the club on Saturday so even if you're not fishing, stop by for the drama at the scales.

The July Double Shot

Canyon Kick-Off; July 2

The bite is on and the first tournament of 2011, The Canyon Kick-Off, is just two weeks away.  The fishing is already hot and we expect this to be a great start to our off-shore tournament season.  Billfish, Tuna and Mahi Calcuttas will be in play as well as an enhanced billfish Calcutta for those looking to kick the stakes up.  The Captains meeting is Friday July 1.

Shockley Off-Shore, July 9

Don't put the dredges away after the Canyon kick-off because we're back at it the following weekend with another storied tournament - the Shockley Off-Shore.  The competition will be there and we're hoping to see your team as part of it.  These tournaments are a great time in the Canyons and back at the Club.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Club Business

Lots of great things are happening at the Club.  We are now a member club of the IGFA so look for so we'll have more access to that organization.  Our application for Non-profit status is submitted so the health of our organization continues to strengthen and our membership numbers are strong.

Membership Tips
We have a lot of great times at the club and they are made by everyone that walks through the door. If you know some people that will make it even better let's get them an application and bring them in to our membership.  The board will be happy to help good people with references to complete new applications.
The Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club
We have Burgees in stock and a new sticker. The burgees last about a season and are at a much lower price of $25, stickers are $5.  Be sure to fly the club colors so we can all keep an eye out for each other.

Sponsorship
Interested in sponsoring a tournament? Or a new club shirt?  Let's come up with some creative ways to support the club and your business.
The club needs your involvement
Our club runs almost entirely on volunteer efforts.  You don't need to be local to be on the board or a committee and we can use most every talent you have.  Contact a board member today to see how to get involved.
