Paul Schlieben
We are very sorry to report the death of Keene pilot Paul Schlieben. Paul died in an aircraft crash last week at Lebanon, NH (KLEB).
Paul was a kind and generous man whose passing is a great loss to many, including the aviation community. Paul was an Angel Flight pilot and the founder of Take Off and Grow, an organization which mentored high school students interested in aviation. Paul was a husband, father, well respected business man, former Marine, and Rotarian.
Paul's services will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM at the Unitarian Church on Main Street in Peterborough. |

Barbara Towne (Mom)
I have just learned that Barbara Towne succumbed this morning to her battle with cancer.
Barbara was known to many of us as the airport Mom. She was renowned as the cowboy cookie lady. Mom joined us for many, many of our barbeques and kept the onions chopped, tomatoes sliced, cowboy cookies plentiful, and warm greetings flowing. Barb was a tremendous friend and courageous woman. She was honest, kind, and quick with a smile. I will miss her.
Information is not yet available on her services. |

Barbecue Saturday
This is barbecue Saturday. Many of us will attend the service for Paul on Saturday, but the barbecue will go on at noon. Please excuse us for offering a more limited menu this weekend. |

Redbird Flight Simulator
Our flight instructors can control most parameters of your flight including
weather, equipment failures, and other simulated
emergency situations. We can also reposition the "aircraft" to the VOR or elsewhere with the push of a button -- making the simulator a very efficient way to train.
We offer block time savings too! A 3 hour block of flight instruction in the simulator costs $260, a $55 savings over normal pricing. A 6 hour block of instruction costs $490, a $140 savings over normal pricing. These offers can also be purchased as gift certificates to give to that special pilot in your life! |

Interesting Technique
Take a look at this video. He probably never forgets to raise or lower the gear-- and has really strong quadriceps too. I wish it showed his landing. |
