Barbeque Saturday
Please join us on Saturday for a barbeque at noon. We'll have burgers and dogs and the usual fare plus I think it's cool enough for a heaping helping of chili. Mmmmmm. We look forward to seeing you. |

Maintenance Shop
I have received many inquiries about how Eddie (our former A&P) is doing. For those of you who do not know, he was diagnosed with lung cancer about 6 weeks ago and left shortly thereafter to begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments at home in South Carolina. Eddie has begun his treatments and is in good spirits. He will be visiting next week to pick up some personal belongings and show his family the Monadnock Region.
I have a card at the FBO for anyone who would like to sign and wish him well-- or drop off your own for his arrival next week. I know he will be grateful for your thoughts, concern and prayers.
On another note, we have hired an A&P IA who will join our team on October 24th. We are excited to bring his experience and professionalism to Monadnock Aviation. |

Wings of Freedom
The Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour visited Keene in late September. Wow! What an experience to see the B-17, B-24, and P-51 up close and personal, to hear their engines, to see hundreds and hundreds of people come out to see the aircraft. Many brought their fathers and husbands who served in the war. Many brought photographs and awards from loved ones who are no longer with them. All brought enthusiasm and an appreciation for the history and sacrifice surrounding these aircraft. Monadnock Aviation provided six seats to WWII vets to fly on the B-17. I had the privilege to fly with these men on that flight. Their stories were as varied and rich as their personalities.

It was truly my honor to sit with these men and get a glimpse of their memories. A special thanks goes to Thomas Transportation who helped us get these gentlemen to the right place at the right time. |

Fly the Redbird
Have you flown a Redbird LD Flight Simulator? Try ours this month. It is a very effective, efficient training device for private and instrument students and pilots alike. It is certified by the FAA as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) which means you can log hours.
Come in to learn a new skill or brush the dust off of an old one.
Our flight instructors can control the parameters of your flight such as equipment failures, weather, and other
simulated emergency situations. We can also reposition the "aircraft" with the push of a button making the simulator a very efficient way to train.
W e are currently offering a block time discount! You can purchase a 3 hour block of flight instruction on the simulator for only $260. That is a $55 savings. Want more time? Consider a 6 hour block of instruction
for $490. That is a savings of $140. These offers can also be purchased as gift certificates to give to that special pilot in your life!
The simulator is now available for booking on Monadnock Aviation's online scheduler. Please contact me for a username or call to schedule today. 603-357-7600 |
