Barbeque Saturday
We invite you to join us for a barbeque tomorrow at noon.
We will bid farewell tomorrow to Eddie Smart, our A&P mechanic. Eddie came to us last year from deep in Dixie and is returning to the south to be closer to his family. Eddie has been a terrific member of the Monadnock Aviation team and will be greatly missed.
Please note that we have changed the barbeque schedule for this month. This so that most of our staff can attend CFII Jim Daris' wedding on September 17th. Please wish Jim well as he removes himself from the rolls of the unwed. |

Cirrus Certified Flight Instructor
Congratulations to Monadnock Aviation's CFII Rick Bendel who recently added being a Cirrus Certified Flight Instructor to his bag of accomplishments.
Rick traveled to the Cirrus factory in Duluth, MN where he went through the rigorous Cirrus Standardized Instructor Program (CSIP) training. He earned the Cirrus seal of approval as a CSIP flight instructor and was deemed to have "the right stuff".
Rick is available to provide primary, advanced, or transition flight training in SR20 and SR22 Cirrus aircraft. |

Wings of Freedom
Just a reminder that we are hosting the Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour on September 28, 29, and 30. The B-17, B-24, and P-51 will grace the skies over Keene! Both aerial tours and ground displays will be available. Scouting and school groups are very welcome to come out and see these beautiful aircraft.
We have a limited number of seats on the bombers which Monadnock Aviation will offer to World War II vets. Please send me an email if you are, or know, a veteran from that era who would like to take a flight into history. |

Block Time on the Redbird
Our new Redbird LD Flight Simulator is here and working like a champ! The simulator is being used by primary and instrument students as well as instrument rated pilots. It is a terrific tool for learning a new skill or brushing the dust off of an old one. Whether you want to maintain or regain instrument currency, practice crosswind landings, or just go flying in the Grand Canyon we are here to make it happen.
Our flight instructors can control the parameters of your flight such as equipment failures, weather, and other simulated
emergency situations. We can also reposition the "aircraft" with the push of a button making the simulator a very efficient way to train. While pilot proficiency is the goal over just building flight time, the simulator is an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) which means you can log hours.
As an incentive to come in and give it a try, we are offering a block time discount! You can purchase a 3 hour block of flight instruction on the simulator for only $260. That is a $55 savings. Want more? Consider a 6 hour block of instruction for $490. That is a savings of $140. These offers can also be purchased as gift certificates to give to that special pilot in your life!
The simulator is now available for booking on Monadnock Aviation's online scheduler. Please contact me for a username. We can schedule a demonstration flight and get started today! |

The 3rd Annual Sonex Fly-in was held August 20th at Keene. The event was a huge success. Thanks to Mike, Glenn, and all
of the Sonex builders who allowed us to participate in such a great event!

Talk having the wind in your hair... Swiss pilot Yves Rossy claims to be the first and only man in the history of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing. Take a look at this video. If you like that, you can see more at www.Jetman.com. |
