Redbird Is Here
The Redbird Simulator has arrived! Please come in to see how state of the art flight training is available at Keene. Our
Device (AATD). That means you can log hours. It features wrap-around visuals, realistic flight controls, and interchangeable cockpits.
The Redbird is a terrific tool to maintain or regain instrument currency, practice crosswind landings, and fine tune your skills with one of our instructors. The instructor can control most aspects of your flight such as equipment failures, weather, and other simulated emergency situations. We can also quickly reposition the "aircraft" to the VOR or other locations making the simulator a very efficient way to train. Click here to see what Master Certified Flight Instructor Doug Stewart has to say about simulator training.
The Redbird features a great visual display. If you want to practice maneuvers such as turns around a point, circling approaches or even basic pattern work, one forward looking screen is just not good enough. The Redbird LD is equipped with six monitors dedicated only to external views. This high-quality, wrap-around visual system helps to sell the sensation of flight and enhances training at all levels.

Congratulations Robin
A two-fold congratulations to Robin Turnbaugh who completed her first solo flight and passed her private pilot written exam! Robin is training with CFI Rick Bendel and flew N43337, our Piper Warrior. When Robin sets her mind to doing something, it's a pretty good bet that she will succeed. Her enthusiasm and persistence is unmatchable. Great job Robin! |

Congratulations Mike
Congratulations to Mike Hogan who completed his first solo flight last week! Mike is training with CFI Rick Bendel and flew N5136C, our Cessna 172. Mike had the real life experience of increasing winds during his solo flight. He safely wrestled the plane to the ground a few times and taught that wind a good lesson! Well done Mike. |

Congratulations Dave
Congratulations to Dave Donlon who passed his private pilot written exam! Dave was a student of our last ground school; he really hit the books and made us proud scoring very high on his exam. For his air work, Dave is training with CFI Chad AuCoin in our Piper Warrior. Fantastic work Dave! |

While still learning the flight characteristics of his homebuilt aircraft, Clark seemed very pleased with the initial flight. Many hours of hard work have paid off. |
