Kindergarten Tour and Candy Drop
We held the third annual airport tour and candy drop for about 60 kindergartners from Keene's Symonds Elementary School last week. The children toured our hangar, talked about the different kinds of aircraft then they each sat in our planes. They really loved moving the controls and touching the knobs (every single knob, dial, and turny thing they could find....!).

After that they ate a picnic lunch at the FBO and we wrapped the trip up with the best thing ever to a 6 year old. Candy! We dropped about 20 pounds of candy from our Cessna as it flew past the kids. Their faces lit up one by one as they realized what was happening. Every year the kids tell us this was the best field trip of the school year.
One of the things we look forward to is the book the kids make us after the tour.
Each child draws a picture and writes a note about what they liked best about the airport trip. Most kids like the candy drop best. But there are always a few who write that they liked sitting in the airplane best. This is the first time many of these kids have seen an airplane close up let alone sat in one. I hope we inspire future aviators! |

Congratulations Tyrel
Congratulations to Tyrel Souza who completed his first solo flight last week! Tyrel is training with CFI Rick Bendel and flew N43337, our Piper Warrior. Tyrel is a student pilot who has shown great decision making skills and pushed himself to be spot-on during his training. He makes us proud! |

Redbird Is Almost Here
We are very excited to take delivery of our Redbird LD Flight Simulator this month! This is not a toy. It is FAA certified as an Advanced Aviation Training Device-- that means loggable time. As soon as our staff is fully trained on the device, we will put it on our online scheduler as a resource for customer use. |

Pinch Hitter Course
In response to several customer inquiries, Monadnock Aviation has developed a Pinch Hitter Course. This course is designed for non-pilot spouses and flying partners.
The course provides ground instruction, flight instruction, and simulator time. It will provide the student with enough knowledge to get the aircraft back on the ground, preferably at an airport, in the event the pilot is incapacitated.
We are scheduled to provide the course to a private group in July but will organize a second offering in late summer. Details to follow. |
