Barbeque Saturday
Looks like mother nature may play a cruel April Fool's Day joke and deliver us up to a foot of snow on Friday! Will that keep us away from the grill? Never. Please join us this Saturday at noon at Keene's FBO for burgers and dogs. |

A huge congratulations is due to Jim Daris. Jim recently added instrument instructor to his aviation resume.
Jim is a CFI with Monadnock Aviation and is now available for instrument flight instruction too! |

Keene Aviation Day and Airshow
In response to your many inquiries, we have decided not to produce an airshow for this year. Months of awaiting renewal of an expired city contract has put us far behind where we need to be in the airshow planning process. We feel it is better to wait until next year than rush and put together a show that does not thrill the masses!
The good news is we are planning for Airshow 2012! Look for more information on this in the upcoming months.
And while we're talking airshows, take a look at this video on the Blue Angels. The bond and mutual respect between the old and the young is poignant. I don't think we'll see Bearcats here in 2012 but a girl can dream... Thanks to Bob Clinton for sending me this link! |

Ground School Starts in April
Our next ground school course will begin in April. We are offering this ten week course on Thursday evenings at 6:00PM. We have taught this course for credit at Keene State College and will offer it this session at the FBO.
Our ground school provides a complete foundation of knowledge for the aspiring pilot or aviation enthusiast. It also prepares one to pass the FAA written exam-- but we do not "teach to the test". Our goal is to make aviators, not test takers!
Please contact me for more details or to reserve your place in our class. |

Spring Poker Run
We are working with the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center to present the spring Poker Run. The tentative dates are April 23 through April 30. Yes, a week long Poker Run! We're hoping the 8 day event allows for maximum participation and minimum weather impact. The event is part of the Discovery Center's Aerospace Fest. More details (cost and participating airports) in the next newsletter. |
We are taking a brief break from safety seminars to plan for other great events and will resume with a great seminar schedule shortly.
