Barbeque and Special Guest
It is barbeque Saturday at Monadnock Aviation! Please join us at noon for lunch and stay for our guest speaker at 1:15PM.
We are honored to have John Katsaros join us this Saturday. John is a World War II veteran. A B-17 crew member shot down over Reims, France, John parachuted from 25,000 feet. He survived, was captured and became a POW. He obtained his freedom after numerous harrowing escape attempts.
John will join us for our barbeque and then, at 1:15PM, tell his amazing story of resistance, escape and evasion. Please join us for lunch, view John's slide show, and hear the recollections of a brave man. |

Lobster Omelette and a Catalina
Looking for a reason to fly? How about a flyout for breakfast? We are heading to Sanford, ME on, Saturday, December 11th for breakfast at the airport diner. We've heard the lobster omelettes are yummy! And if that is not enough enticement, we have finagled a viewing of the PBY Catalina under restoration at Sanford following breakfast.
If interested meet at the FBO by 0800 on the 11th. A big round of applause is due to Kevin McCormick for putting details of the trip together.
If you want to go but have no airplane or if you have an airplane but no companion, please let me know. I will try to pair vacant seats with full minds. |

Safety Seminars
Did you know you can receive notices whenever a safety seminar is scheduled near you? FAASafety.Gov has information about seminars, the FAA Safety Team, the WINGS Program, and more. December 7 - Post Accident Survival
Most aircraft accidents are survivable. Whether the pilot and passengers remain alive to be rescued is often a matter of whether they were prepared for the post-accident survival situation. This seminar will focus on how to be prepared for basic land survival in winter conditions. The speakers are John Wood from the Portland FSDO and Rick Bendel, CFI.
January 18 - Medical Certifications
Dr. Clark, FAA New England Region Regional Flight Surgeon, and Dr. Ray, Deputy Flight Surgeon, will discuss pilot medical certifications. We will make sure to leave plenty of time for individual questions and answers.

All seminars are from 6 to 8pm at Monadnock Aviation in the Keene airport's main terminal. You can register for the seminars by clicking on the provided links.
