Why Come to Keene?

For Pumpkins!

October 16th is the date for the 20th annual Keene Pumpkin Festival.  Have you ever seen over 25,000 carved pumpkins in one place?  We have!  While you're waiting to see what that many pumpkins lit up at one time looks like, the entire family can spend the day downtown with special activities for the kids including a costume parade, a seed spitting and pie eating contests, live music on three stages, facepainting, craft booths, lots of food provided by area non-profits, and much more. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display.  The event takes place from 10:00am until 9:00pm and we have arranged for shuttle service to and from the festival for those who fly into Monadnock Aviation!

Saturday Barbeque

It's time for Oktoberfest!  Please join us on Saturday at noon for an Oktoberfest barbeque.  There will be plenty of bratwurst, German potato salad, cabbage and kielbasa, sauerkraut, and of course we'll have burgers and dogs for the non-Bavarian eaters.  As for liquid refreshments, root beer is as close to beer as we can offer.

We have no particular expertise in cooking these foods, so feel free to bring a dish if you have a German specialty.
Your Comments Needed

Monadnock Aviation needs your help.  If you would be willing to put together a short testimonial (even just a couple of sentences describing your experience with us) for us to use in support of our upcoming negotiations with the City of Keene, we would be very grateful.  You can send these via email or U.S. mail to:

Safety Seminars

Did you know you can receive notices whenever a safety seminar is scheduled near you?  FAASafety.Gov  has information about seminars, the FAA Safety Team, the WINGS Program, and more.

November 16 Post Accident Survival
Most aircraft accidents are survivable. Whether the pilot and passengers remain alive to be rescued is often a matter of whether they were prepared for the post-accident survival situation. This seminar will focus on how to be prepared for basic land survival in winter conditions.  The speakers are John Wood from the Portland FSDO and Rick Bendel, CFI.

Coming Soon:
Discuss medical certificate issues with FAA New England Region Deputy Flight Surgeon Dr. Joseph Ray.
