MONDAY, JULY 25, 2010 LOCKED BOXES Have you noticed that the most valuable commodities in the world are locked in boxes? I was visiting a customer of mine who lived in a European castle with a bombproof box crafted below ground and secured with an elaborate combination lock. As my anticipation grew, he unlocked the door, revealing the world's two most expensive secretary desks, purchased for $2 million each and neatly displayed in his climate-controlled box.
God has placed a box inside each one of us that holds within it a treasure much more precious than those valuable desks. It's the box of the spiritual heart. The Bible tells us that God is the highest bidder for the contents of our inner boxes (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). It also says that the box of the spiritual heart is either (1) locked and unrestored, or (2) unlocked and restored. Pride is the lock on the human heart; humility is the key.
