Greetings!

September. Already. And what a summer we've had.

Regardless of the weather, we've enjoyed the Olympics; are enjoying the Paralympics - and just loved the smiles and rewards that come from the successful culmination of hard work and focused preparation.

In the meantime, the rest of life continues - the fact that the media are picking up again on the parlous state of the economy, and the challenges facing business doesn't mean those issues have gone away.

If anything, life is getting tougher. It was a good time for the Chartered Quality Institute to issue their report on the benefits of good process management. Amongst other things, it emphasises that lots of little improvements eventually add up to a huge difference.

Just ask the Olympians, who had their best haul of medals ever. Every tenth of a second they could save during an event made a difference. Gold, in some cases.

Lessons for us all, perhaps?

firstProcess Improvement Guide   Process Improvement. The how...

So you've decided to improve the way your business works.

You're aware that your operations aren't functioning as well as they should and you know you can do better.

Products are taking too long to make; services too long to deliver; costs are too high; complaints too numerous and customer satisfaction is low.

But where do you start? Here might be good...

second50 Shades of...compliance
best practice scrawl
...I know. Shameless. Fancy linking compliance with 'being compliant'. Compliance isn't just about whipping people into shape... That's not our business. We're more about persuasion and development.

The problem is that may people equate 'compliance' with subservience. Which it needed. Unless you want it to, of course. Which is a whole different story!

Read this to see how compliance can bring you massive improvements in the way you do business.

Real, tangible and measurable benefits, including higher revenues, lower costs and increased profits.

surveyWhat would happen if...

 The aftermath can be messy

Just anything happened. To you, to your business, or to your staff? Or clients and customers?

Something that disrupted your business so badly that it affected your ability to meet your clients' demands, so they moved elsewhere?

Something unexpected perhaps - or something which you knew might happen one day; yet you just crossed your fingers, and hoped ...

You'd be mad, you might think, to leave the investment or your livelihood in your business to chance. To take the risk that nothing would happen that might cause your business to fail.

And yet, recent research by Aviva showed that a breath-taking 54% of businesses do just that, figuring that they "rarely get significant levels of disruption in their business".

Think about it. Then read this summary of what you could do. Or go here, and get some practical advice.
