Greetings!

A new year. A new beginning. Time to look ahead, make change happen, and pick up the pace. Although, in truth, if you wait until January 1st to make changes to your your organisation...well, how much time have you wasted.

That's if you want to change the way you do things.

Looking ahead; changing up
We work with organisations who want to change; we've nearly worked with some who say they want change...but won't, don't, or can't. Which camp do you fall into? Times change. Do you?

We're changing.  Our Process Improvement, Project and Change Management services focus on the professional and financial services sector, and Not for Profit organisations; and we give Business Continuity support to insurance brokers who work with clients to improve their resilience.

At the start of our fourth year, our communications style continues to evolve. Thanks to the views of a number of readers, our newsletter style is changing.  We hope you it. If you want to give your views on how and what we write about, there's still time  - here.

We look forward to speaking - and perhaps working! - with many of you again in the next twelve months.

Good luck in 2012!

Last month, we gave ten reasons to prompt you to review how you do what you do.

Preferably before a problem forces you to change the way you do things.

So, this month, ten steps to make process improvement happen. Because we believe that in the current climate where business growth is harder, processes can make a difference between you and your competitors.

And, incidentally, improve profit margins, too...

We start with:
  1. Picking a project to make a difference! Obvious, maybe, but just how do you identify one? See our article for one view, and more steps...
secondChange. And reaction...

Office clutterThink about the last time you moved house. Or cleared out a desk. Or changed your car.

Then think about the rubbish you got rid of.  The clutter that took up space. The stuff you kept 'just in case'.

Then ask the 'why' questions. Why have I kept that? What is this for? When did I last use these?

Then think about applying the same thought process to your organisation. What would you change if you were starting again. Which part of your business would be different? Or lost? Or improved?

Then think about where to start with change. This is a good place...

...but you're not reliant on Baldrick nor Blackadder! Whilst they knew plenty about causing disruption, it's not clear to us that they'd be good people to prevent or recover from disaster!

No. You have your own Business Continuity plan.

Will it work, though? How do you know? It's important that you do - whilst Blacxkadder always lived to fight another day, would you want to chance your business on the thought that it should be alright on the night?
