Dear Crestwood Families & Friends, karate

Crestwood is very excited to bring back a former Staff Alumnus to teach Karate to 1st - 6th graders this summer.  Master Larry Boritz, owner of United Studios of Self Defense in Commack and holder of numerous Black Belt degrees, titles, and awards, along with other Senseis, will provide special Karate workshops. Campers will be introduced to the basics of the ancient art of Kempo Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, and Kung Fu including proper stances and blocking patterns.  In addition to being fun and great exercise, these basic movements are said to dramatically improve focus and concentration skills. Since safety is always of the utmost importance, this will be a no sparring (no contact) program.  It will also be stressed to never use these moves on others.  Based on interest level, additional group and individual club time may be available for campers wanting more instruction.  Karate will begin on July 12th.
