NEW FOR 2011! PAINTING & DRAWING LESSONS

Crestwood's Fine Arts program, with our resident artist Mr. Ted, has always provided limitless opportunities for visual artistic expression. New for the 2011 summer, Mr. Ted will be starting two new programs: Painting and Drawing.

Painting- The basic techniques of acrylic painting will be taught including basic color wheel concepts, controlled color mixes and more.  Using the concepts and techniques learned through the class, campers will have the opportunity to paint a variety of subjects and landscapes around the Crestwood campus.

Drawing- Campers will learn to draw what they see through careful direct observation using graphite and charcoal pencils. With practice and gentle constructive critiques in a positive, encouraging environment, campers will learn to hone their observational drawing skills.

These new programs are available for campers going into 3rd - 6th grades and will be highly instructional, requiring weekly attendance. If you are interested and would like more information, please call your Division Head or visit Mr. Ted in Fine Arts on Family Fun & Clothing Day, Saturday, June 25th.

PRODUCTION FOR 2011

Crestwood's Drama Department is excited to announce that "Annie" will be this summer's big production. Director Ariel Cooperman and Asst. Director Emily Edwards will be returning to direct this beloved classic. Children entering 2nd - 6th grade who have an interest in drama are welcome to join in this special musical production.  There is a part for everyone, either in the cast or as part of the scenery/stage crew. Since the play will be presented during the last week of summer, all cast members must be enrolled through the end of summer.  Auditions for lead roles will take place during the first week of our summer program.  All children who want to be in the show will get a part.

Our Drama Directors will be available to meet you and your child plus answer any questions about the program on Family Fun & Clothing Day.

YOUTH FITNESS fitness roomPROGRAM

Crestwood's Fitness Center, which features the Hoist Fitness KL Series, is one of the only facilities on Long Island to offer this 9 piece gym circuit that's made exclusively for kids entering 2nd grade and up. All children entering 2nd - 4th grade are scheduled for our fitness program to get them familiar with the equipment while encouraging them to make fitness a part of their life.

Additionally, those children entering 2nd - 6th grade have the option of choosing our "Youth Fitness Program" as a club activity. Under the guidance of our certified Fitness Director Donna Kleiman and her assistant Lisi Haas, each child who opts for the "Youth Fitness Program" will receive personalized workouts to fit their needs. There is no additional fee for this pull-out program. If you would like more information, please call the office and leave a message for your Division Head.
