Our work

Support from Reuters

Thomson ReutersINSP's Honorary President David Schlesinger has recently been appointed as Chairman of Thomson Reuters China, after serving as Editor-in-Chief of Reuters News since 2007. He will continue to support INSP and will soon be chairing the judging panel for the 2011 International Street Paper Awards. Reuters have also agreed to be one of the principle sponsors of the 2011 Awards, for which we are extremely grateful. They also continue to support INSP's Street News Service by providing articles and images, as an invaluable editorial resource for street papers.

2011 INSP Conference

Open Society Institute (OSI)

INSP's 2011 conference will be held in Glasgow from 20th - 22nd July 2011, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, (one of the principal event sponsors). Thanks to funding from the Open Society Institute, an additional 'Training Day' will take place on the 19th July, for smaller and emerging street papers. The Training Dawill be led by members of the INSP Board, as well as staff from The Big Issue in Scotland.

INSP works hard each year to fundraise for the conference to ensure that the maximum number of street paper delegates are able to attend through low delegate fees and travel bursary support. So far this year, INSP has secured enough funding for 20 travel bursaries from a variety of partners including various embassies, government departments and British Council offices. Read more.

Street News Service

INSP staff have recently begun working with an external 'Advisory Committee' to discuss the future strategy of the Street News Service. Feedback from the committee will be discussed with street paper editors and will then be presented at INSP's 2011 Conference for further discussion. We are very grateful for the support of the Advisory Committee. They are:
