2010 INSP conference - Melbourne

Hus Forbi 212 TSThe 2010 INSP conference will take place during 18-20th May 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, in partnership with The Big Issue Australia. 63 delegates have signed up for the conference so far, and INSP has been able to assist more than 40 of those attending - either with a full travel bursary or a significant financial contribution. 10 delegates are also attending an optional 'How To' training day on Monday 17th May. The purpose of this day is to offer smaller or younger papers examples of good practice to help develop their organisations. Read more
Street News Service development

INSP recently appointed Danielle Batist (pictured) as Street News Service Editor. Danielle holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master's degree in Journalism and Media within Globalisation (with Distinction). Her passion for street papers was ignited whilst working in the editorial department of The Big Issue Namibia. She is already known to many INSP members, from her 7-month internship with INSP last year, as SNS co-ordinator. Danielle will commence her employment in Melbourne during the conference, adding to the excitement of the launch of the new SNS web platform. Read more.
Lord Provost to host Civic Reception for INSP

Hus Forbi 212 TSINSP's Patron, the Lord Provost of Glasgow Bob Winter (pictured), will host a networking reception for INSP in Glasgow's City Chambers on Wednesday 5th May. Nearly 70 guest have been confirmed, including key members of Scotland's business, media, charity and government communities. Guests will have the opportunity to meet like minded individuals and learn more about the work of INSP.  A keynote speech will be given by INSP supporter Charles Fletcher MBE, Training Editor at the Herald & Times Group and Chief Executive of Caledonia Media.
