INSP's 2010 Speak Out campaign

INSP member street papers have recently participated in a network-wide survey on the impact of their work. Responses will be used to compile a street paper 'impact report' as part of INSP's exploration of an annual 'Speak Out' campaign, connected to the 17th October 'International Day for the Eradication of Poverty'.

Hus Forbi 212 TSINSP's news agency the Street News Service (SNS) is currently undergoing major developments. Work on a brand new interactive web platform is now well underway, and the new site will be launched at the 2010 conference in Melbourne. INSP has also recently conducted interviews for it's first full time News Editor who will join the staff team in early May.

Hus Forbi 212 TSThe 2010 INSP conference will take place during 18-20th May 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, in partnership with The Big Issue Australia. Read more.Through its first-ever 'Global Sponsorship Project' INSP has already secured significant funding from the Ministry of Tourism in Quebec and is working to secure flight sponsorship from some of the world's main airline companies. In addition, INSP has also successfully secured funding from the Slovenian Ministry of Culture, the Austrian Embassy in Australia, and the Open Society Institute, for conference travel and delegate fees and is still working to secure other similar funding.

  • New staff at INSP: INSP recently appointed Ms Rumbi Tarusenga as Regional Training and Development Co-ordinator. She will be based in Zimbabwe and will work on building and developing INSP's African street-paper network. She will start at INSP's Glasgow office on May 3rd before flying out to Zimbabwe soon after. INSP is currently conducting interviews for a Business Development and Marketing Manager.   • New North American street papers:  The  INSP board recently approved two new North American street papers; One Step Away, Philadelphia, USA and Street Feat, Halifax, Canada.
