Mayor of Bergen is INSP's newest Patron

becomes the latest Patron. He joins the Lord Provost of Glasgow (Patron) and
Reuters' Editor-in-Chief, David Schlesinger (Honorary President) as INSP's

to host second event for INSP
INSP Patron, the Lord
Provost of Glasgow Bob Winter has generously agreed to host a second awareness-raising
reception on behalf of INSP on the 5th May at Glasgow's beautiful City
Chambers. Members of Scotland's
business, media and government sectors will be invited as well as INSP friends

Minister for External Affairs visits Malawi project
The Scottish Government's External Affairs
Minister Fiona Hyslop recently met staff and homeless vendors from The Big
Issue Malawi in Blantyre. INSP and The Big Issue Malawi are thankful for the support
of the Scottish Government and it was an honour to have the minister visit the

2010 INSP conference - Melbourne
The 2010 INSP
conference will take place during 18-20th May 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, in
partnership with The Big Issue Australia.

to inform and educate readers about the issues of poverty and inequality

Project updates
- African network: INSP's United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) funded project is now underway. Interviews recently took place for INSP's African Regional
Training and Development Manger who will start in March. Read more.
- News Service development: INSP have recently secured the services of a web development
company based in Edinburgh, for the development of a new website for its innovative Street News Service (SNS). INSP
will soon be advertising for the first-ever SNS Editor who will start in May
this year. Read more.
- New German street papers: The INSP board approved two new German

- New staff at INSP: INSP has welcomed two
new staff members this month. Robert Weir and Hannah Sheriff are on 6-month
placements supported by the UK Government. They will be working on fundraising,
member communication, events and network development. INSP is also currently advertising for a News Service Editor and Business

- Homeless World Cup and INSP: INSP's Network
Services Manager Maree Aldam recently attended Scotland's film premier of Kicking It as a guest of INSP partner, the
Homeless World Cup.
