Milestone is street paper history
2009
has been INSP's 15th anniversary year. To celebrate this milestone in
street paper history, a series of special events took place throughout
the year, including a
Civic Reception in Glasgow; the 14th annual conference and the second
INSP awards in Norway; and the Reuters Networking Reception in London.
As part of the celebrations, INSP publically
celebrated 5 exceptional street papers which have demonstrated an
extraordinary commitment to the development of the network, giving over
and above; to develop the shared mission of the INSP. Thank you to The Big Issue (UK), BISS (Germany), Surprise (Switzerland), L'Itineraire (Canada) and The Big Issue Australia for their support throughout this year.
INSP staff and Chairperson recently met with The Big Issue's John Bird in London to discuss ideas and collaborations for the coming year. |

Big changes for INSP in 2010
INSP is currently advertising an exciting new role for a Regional Training and Development Manager to build and develop INSP's African street-paper network. We have already received several applications for the post and interviews will be held at the end of
January. This is the first of 3 new positions which will start in
2010. We will also soon be advertising for a News Service Editor and Marketing and Business Development Manager.
We are also currently advertising 2 administration positions as part of the UK Government's Future Jobs Fund, to provide employment for unemployed people.

Donate air miles
If
you have air miles to spare, you could allow a street paper colleague
to attend INSP's 2010 conference in Melbourne. Using your air miles to
book a flight would mean that a street paper editor could attend
invaluable training and networking sessions. Please contact us for more information.

In kind support
You
can also support INSP or your local street paper in other ways. If you
have time to spare, equipment that you would like to donate or
expertise to share, please contact us.
