If you are considering that path or you know a student who is considering teaching Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®, there is still time to register for Level One Teacher Training: Foundations, here in New Mexico. For more info, go to:  http://immersion.kriteachings.org

Come be with us this August. It is an amazing experience for students and trainers alike!

Trainers in Training (TNT)

If you are a Level One Teacher and are interested in becoming a teacher trainer, the Trainer in Training Program (fondly called TNT) is a wonderful opportunity. Offered by the Aquarian Trainer Academy, TNTs support the Immersion Course and help students in their development into Kundalini Yoga instructors and receive training from KRI Senior Trainers, including Nirvair Singh, Deva Kaur, Hari Charn Kaur, Pritpal Kaur and more. Learn to teach Kundalini Yoga Kriyas and receive orientation to the delivery of the program and its administration. If you are interested in participating in the program this year or in future years, contact Siri Neel Kaur at siri.neel@verizon.net

Why is my Web Browser so slow, and how can I stream a video without using YouTube?

Flood of ads and trackers slow webpages to a crawl - When aggressive websites and advertisers hook into your browser, your online experience can slow to the point of frustration - even uselessness! But the right software and settings, both built-in and add-on, put you back in control.

What to do when ads ruin your Net experience?

Recently someone described to me how his favorite sites are being swamped by seemingly unrelated background activity.

Yogi Bhajan - Summer Solstice

by Hari Jiwan Singh

This week I spent at our Summer Solstice Celebration. I thought I'd give you my impression. It turns out that my best quality is as a watchman. I'd rather fathom myself as something more refined, but it turns out that I'm best suited to be a watchman. So I watch.

I watch, I don't judge. I watch to figure out what reaction the Siri Singh Sahib would have. The more I do this the more I live through him. Believe me; his life is much grander than mine. And I thank God every day that in his grace, he trained me for this job. I enjoy it.  Read entire article

Food for Health - Slow and Conscious Eating

by SS Dr. Kirpal Singh Khalsa, Ph.D.

We all know how to eat, right? It's simple: insert food, chew, swallow and repeat. Often we do it on the run, the less time taken the better. We eat fast food, frozen food, microwavable food, processed food and instant food. Time is of the essence. Any short cut you can take to save time is money in the bank. Wolf down a sandwich between meetings, gulp a coffee on the way to work, nuke a packaged meal when you get home, use the drive up window, in and out in record time. According to the Yogi we are killing ourselves. It is time to slow down.

"Life is by breath, not years.  The average breath is 20 - 25 times a minute.  In good health, you breathe 10 - 12 times a minute.  But if you practice one breath a minute for 11 minutes a day, you can be in control of your mind."  Yogi Bhajan 9.10.95
What's happening in the Ashram Gardens?
Here's a quick update from the ashram Core of Volunteers Gardening group, (represented by Ravi Har Kaur, Ravi Kaur of Trio School, and Krishna Singh) on what they are focusing on, to upgrade the ashram gardens: SOIL ENRICHMENT!  The group's main focus this year is to enrich our depleted soil, by:
  • growing crops that will later be turned in to the soil to enrich it.
  • putting mulch and compost tea into the soil, to increase nutrients and friendly bacteria
  • fighting/battling the dreaded Bindweed, which is choking out our crops, by introducing a 'Bindweed Mite", that attacks the Bindweed. (If you are walking by, look for little pink flags throughout the ashram garden plots - these are the spots where the 'Bindweed Mite' has been introduced.)

Solstice Follow-up

By Hari Jwian Singh, Los Angeles

The days following solstice can be disconcerting, and you may feel like a stranger in a strange land. You have just readjusted your higher bodies and need to give them a chance to reintegrate to the "outside" world. The best tool to do this is continued and consistent yoga and meditation. Now might be a great time to consider a Sadhana routine. Read entire article
