Restaurant Review:
Pizzeria da Lino |
This month's restaurant review is by Guru Prakash Kaur. Her favorite pizza places is Pizzeria da Lino in Santa Fe. It's owned by the same guy that runs Osteria de Assisi, that really great Italian Restaurant in Santa Fe, and he decided to open a place that just does pizza. Her favorite is the "Winter Pizza", with butternut squash.
Pizzeria da Lino is on Guadalupe Street just a street up from San Francisco Street. It's a small and cozy place, with great service. All the pizzas can be made gluten free. Check out their menu at http://www.pizzeriadalino.com/ |

Welcome, New Ashram Members: Harbhajan Kaur and her son, Kanwarbir Singh Khalsaji!
Harbhajan Kaur and her son recently moved here from North Carolina. She is working part-time with Mukta Kaur, to help spread Yogi Bhajan's SuperHealth technology. She attended a Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course with Pritpal Singh and Kaur in North Carolina and decided she wanted to raise her son within a large ashram community, because of his love for the Guru and sangat. They are really loving the ashram community, feel supported, and are grateful to be able to attend group sadhana. Harbhajan Kaur says, "People are so kind and accepting. It's really a family." Kanwarbir Singh turned four years old this past Tuesday, February 28. He loves to be addressed as Kanwarbir Singh Khalsaji, and wants to learn how to play the tablas. |
3HO Offices Open House
In the upstairs Langar Hall
On Thursday, Feb. 16, the 3HO staff invited the ashram sangat to come upstairs after Langar and see their new office space. All the local staff have now moved into the second story and have done a beautiful job of decorating and making this the new headquarters for 3HO. Many sangat members showed up to eat cookies, meet new staff members, explore and enjoy the new space, and be cozy.

Holding a Vision for the Ashram Children's Program
By Guru Simran Kaur, Sr
Guru Simran Kaur, Senior, has been selflessly serving the vision of the Siri Singh Sahib for years. One of the many ways she does this is by acting as the coordinator and organizer of the weekly Ashram Children's Program. Her vision for the Ashram Children's Program is this: to have the Guru become a Living Presence in the children's lives. For them to 'feel' they are Sikhs.(not just "know" they are Sikhs). For them to have their own sense of identity as a Sikh. She wants them to get to really KNOW the Gurus, by offering activities that make each of the Gurus come alive for them - every day. She wants them to be proud to be a Sikh. All the activities that she plans are very specifically to connect them with each of the Gurus - with the lessons the Gurus embodied. If you have any ideas to share, of how to make the Gurus a Living Reality for the children, please email Guru Simran Kaur, Sr at [email protected] |
The Consul General's Visit
by Sat Sundri Kaur
on Valentine's Day, February 14th, Hacienda de Guru Ram Das had very special guests: Ambassador N. Parthasarathi, the new Consul General of India, and Deputy Consul General Kumar Tuhin, both from the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. First they traveled to Santa Fe to visit the offices of the state Capitol, and then to Hacienda de Guru Ram Das in Espanola, to visit the Gurdwara and be welcomed by the Sangat at a special Valentine's Day "I Love Guru Ram Das" Langar.
The Consul General recently sent a thank you email: "Satnam, Thank you so much for the set of DVDs on Kundalini Yoga from KRI. I will seriously watch them and hope to benefit from them. I really enjoyed my visit and more importantly meeting with all of you. Warm regards, Parthasarathi." Read full article here >

Let's get Started!
By Guruka Singh
Since the debut of Windows 95, the Start menu has offered an easily navigated and extendable haven for all the programs we don't use every day. Windows 7 has the best Start Menu ever. If you start using it properly, it will make everything easier, and you won't need to have so many icons all over your desktop. Okay, let's clean up all these messy icons and get started.
Let's start with the basics: pinning applications, folders, and files.
In future columns, I'll give you just about everything you need to know about the Start menu - how to use it, change it, gussy it up, and dress it down. The Start menu is something we use dozens of times a day. Take a few minutes and make it look the way you want it to!

Yogi Bhajan, Spirituality or Bust by Hari Jiwan Singh
In the early years (the late 70's and early 80's) when just he and I would venture out every afternoon, I would be the Siri Singh Sahib's driver, security, reconnaissance, communicator, entertainment coordinator, or whatever else was needed on the spot. This was always challenging because I wasn't raised with the proper tutoring. It was "on the job" training and I was most grateful for the tolerance and patience he showed as I messed up more times than I care to count. He didn't tell me what or how to do something or criticize me when I didn't "get it!" He just "kept up" for over 30 years giving until I got it, or not. Read entire article > |
