October Numerology Forecast:

Forty Day Count Down to the New Age
By Nam Hari Kaur Khalsa

Watch out world, here comes the beginning of the Aquarian Age just around the corner!

We are now within the 40 day home stretch of a tremendous global shift of energy. Many people are wondering, "How will this affect me?" One of the ways we will be most affected is the increasing inability to tolerate feeling trapped, confined, or suffocated in a dead-end job, relationship, or anything else which affects our heart.

The overall number for this year is a 4 (2+0+1+1=4), and 4 is the Heart Chakra. With the special appearance of number 11 in the calendar year, there is an increasing determination within us to break free from "Soul killing" situations. Some of us have been able to initiate steady, measured steps to bring about these liberating changes, while others are still feeling an overwhelming frustration and bewilderment over what it will take to break free. This is where it is going to get messy. Read entire article >

Hey, wait a minute! I just bought Windows 7!

iPadIn August I received an Apple iPad as a gift. Now, before going off and thinking that I have gone and drunk the "Apple Kool Aid," remember, it was a gift. Now, after spending a couple of months with it, I find that I don't use my laptop computer at all; just the iPad. It is light, fast, simple and functional. I recently took only my iPad and my phone on my 17 day trip to the U.K. and the iPad filled all of my needs while traveling and teaching.

It holds all my music and photos. It holds scores of yoga classes and meditations for teaching (yes, I can play the meditation music while I read the class and teach.) It holds all my books (Kindle and iBook) dozens of TV show episodes, movies and Yogi Bhajan class videos. It holds lots of fun games to keep kids (and me) amused for hours. It handles my email with aplomb, browses the web better than any smartphone and allows me to view, edit and save my Microsoft Word documents (locally or using Goggle Docs) as well as sharing docs, music, photos and more with any one I wish by using EverNote or Dropbox. Best of all, it weighs only 600 gms and I can easily hold it in one hand. It's way more convenient than any laptop or netbook computer!

Yogi Bhajan, Dress Test, no Jest nor Rest

By Hari Jiwan Singh

Acapulco in winter is always fun, ninety degrees outside, the beach within a stone's throw, two beautiful golf courses next door, and fresh tropical fruit all around. The Master didn't really go on vacations much, but, rather, was blessed to have students in some worthwhile places. Mexico was one of these places. We'd always stay at the same place, the famous Princess Hotel. Back then, there was no Cancun, no Baja vacationland. The Master loved this hotel. He, especially, loved the lobby. In the front and in the back there were no walls, the ceiling was several stories high. It was very large, and a sweet ocean breeze was constantly blowing through.

In the evening after dinner, we would sit in the lobby and have virgin Pina Coladas, or whatever exotic drink you fancied. Babaji, the leading teacher in Mexico, was always our host and he always did a super job. I'd known Babaji since my first days in the Ashram in L.A. He visited L.A. frequently; in fact, he lived there before the Master sent him back to Mexico to start an ashram in about 1972. I liked Babaji a lot. He had a big personality; a sense of humor; the courage to be bold; and a serviceful nature. We were made for each other. Babaji was fun and the Siri Singh Sahib loved him a lot. We were always well taken care of in Acapulco.

On one evening as we were enjoying our visit to the lobby, the Siri Singh Sahib had an idea. Actually, it was a test. He wanted a dress like he'd seen in many western movies, John Wayne movies. They are remodeled traditional "Vera Cruz" dresses much like the flamenco dresses of today with a fitted top, puffy three quartered length sleeves, and a waistline which extends slightly below the waist to a flared, frilled, layered bell bottom skirt flowing to the floor. It's a modified guitar-shaped style cinched around the waist reminiscent of the old gypsy style. You get the picture.

If God has guided you here and has given you the virtue to do service here, and has given you that chance, then don't waste it. It's a place to gain and to be what is yours to be. Therefore, I say to you that take the very earth of this place and put it on your forehead. It will rewrite your destiny."
