Dr Balkar Singh to Teach in
Espanola June 15 by Dharmatma Kaur
"Understanding the Kundalini Surjhee
Shabad" Date: Tuesday, June 15
Location: HGRD Gurdwara Time: 5:30 to 7:30 pm Donation: $11 minimum (exact change
requested) No pre-registration required
Dr. Balkar Singh will teach a short evening course on the
meaning
of the Kundalini Surjhee Shabad. Earlier this year, the community had
hoped to host 11,000 repetitions of this Shabad. If we can anchor its
meaning in our collective consciousness, this will help us manifest such
an event in the future. Dr. Balkar Singh is a learned and respected
scholar of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Many of you may remember him from
the years he spent here teaching us Gurbani, at the Siri Singh Sahib's
request. Discussion will be capped by 11 recitations of this Shabad led
by Dev Suroop Kaur. Please join us!

Whahe Guru Kaur Khalsa
Where are you from?
I am originally from Austria. I attended seven years of school at Miri Piri Academy and am here this summer working, attending school, and developing my career in the health/healing industry. I have been doing little jobs here and there while living here. What brought you here? The community and school. It is a great environment to focus, work and play!
Any other thoughts? I am the second youngest of nine children. My parents are not Sikhs but I am. My dream is to become a healer and travel the world helping people. I can speak three different languages: English, Italian, and German. It is great being here and I just want to thank everyone for their support.

French-speaking Kundalini Yoga Festival By Dominique Puvilland
This last
Easter we held the first French-speaking Festival of Kundalini Yoga.
This meeting fulfilled a twofold desire of the French Federation; to bring
together the French Speaking community of Kundalini Yoga, and to share the teachings
of Yogi Bhajan in the French language. We thank all the
participants, teachers and students for their presence
that contributed to the success of this wonderful heart-felt meeting and we
decided to renew this experience on Easter of 2011, in Fondjouan, so that our
community can again join together in this wonderful vibration. Read entire story >

The 7th Lord of Miracles Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das
lands in El Salvador
January 28, 2010
by
Ram Das Singh
For the first time on the Lord of Miracles Tour we had the
blessing of visiting El Salvador and it is actually the first time we
have had the privilege of teaching Kundalini Yoga and the teachings of
the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Central America. Everything about this
tour is a miracle of Guru Ram Das and visiting El Salvador was no less
of a miracle. As we wer e about to finalize our itinerary and finalize
all of our plans for the extensive 40-day tour throughout South America,
S.S. Gurubachan Singh received an email from a married couple that he
had met a couple of years prior. They told him that they would be glad
to invite the Lord of Miracles Tour to El Salvador. Before we knew it,
our tickets worked out perfectly to fly from Colombia back to the U.S.
with a stop-off in San Salvador (El Salvador's capital). Basically, Guru
Ji arranged everything and we just followed what he laid before us. So
our 40-day tour became 45 days and we were very excited to spend some
extra time sharing the teachings.

Computer Corner
June 2010 Managing Your Music and Armoring your
PC By Guruka Singh
Protecting yourself from the criminals of the Internet
shouldn't cost you a fortune. In fact, it doesn't have to cost you anything.
Firewalls and antivirus programs can't do all the work of safe
computing - small, targeted utility apps that encrypt your files, keep your
passwords safe, and clean up your PC add to your protection.
Here are a few small security apps that you might want to use; if
not now, then someday. What's even better - they are all free.
Lock your sensitive data in a hidden vault First up is TrueCrypt, a free download (page) that gives you
on-the-fly disk encryption. It works on all current versions of Windows, plus
Mac OS X, and Linux systems.
We all have files that need to be kept private - financial
spreadsheets containing credit-card and bank-account numbers, confidential
business plans, lists of clients, or maybe just something very personal. read entire article > |

Words from the Editor For
anyone who missed the Memorial Day Picnic at the ashram, you missed one
of the best picnic's ever!
The weather was perfect, the food
divine and the music fun and whimsical. I don't think I've been to an ashram event that was so relaxing and engaging for all.
There was something for everyone. The children were entertained for hours running through the sprinklers
and playing in a pool and making mud. There was hula hooping, ping pong
games and just general lounging on the cool green grass.
We were wooed
by Mata Mandir & friend's singing sweet tunes
and humored and energized by rappers Guruprakash Singh, Maninder Singh
& Dev Atma
Singh.
Krishna Shiva, Har Pal and Sat
Want Singh kept the grills well-tended with barbequed burgers, and the
corn, potato & tofu salads, watermelon, and home-made pies, that
everyone brought, were out of this world!
I hope this becomes a regular
event at our community because it was fun &
relaxing time for everyone, young and old.
And a
big "Thank You" to the Hearts
and Hands COV and Sat Darshan Kaur, who brought this whole party
together. We appreciate your efforts and enthusiasm!

"If God has guided you here and has given you the virtue to do service here, and has given you that chance, then don't waste it. It's a place to gain and to be what is yours to be. Therefore, I say to you that take the very earth of this place and put it on your forehead. It will rewrite your destiny."
