Steve Sullam photo

It gives us a great deal of pleasure to introduce to you our new Assistive Technology Director, Steve Sullam.  We are fortunate that a "local guy" decided to return home.  Steve was raised in Aina Haina and graduated from Iolani High School.  His Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology was acquired from Goddard College and his Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University.  Steve left his position at Missouri State University as their Assistive Technology Coordinator for students and faculty to accept the position with ATRC!

Steve brings experience in the evaluation , training of assistive technology for people with visual, hearing, cognitive, speech, mobility, and intellectual impairments.  His primary responsibilities include the coordination, evaluation, installation, and ongoing maintenance of assistive technology accommodations at ATRC.  Steve will serve as the primary contact for all assistive technology assessment referrals, evaluate requests for assistive technology, and assess alternative methods of accommodation.

Rachel Fritz, Program Assistant / Summer Hire,
attends Hamilton College in Clinton, New York  where she is studying Psychology and plans to continue her studies in the field of medicine.  Rachel will assist our AT Director, Steve Sullam, in community outreach, AT Depot/AT Exchange  and program-related activities.  She enjoys working and training person's with disabilities to assist them in becoming more technologically adept.

SURVEY: "Individuals with Disabilities Who Need Job Accommodations"

"Individuals with disabilities who need job accommodations (or "reasonable accommodations" as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act) are being sought for a study by researchers at the University of Maryland, College Park. The purpose of this study is to examine factors related to requests for job accommodations.

You are invited to share your perceptions on factors related to an accommodation request by answering a few questions about yourself, your organization, and your abilities and emotions in the course of requesting accommodations. This survey will take about 20-30 minutes.
