Friends of Hawaii Charities awarded ATRC a $7,500 grant to continue its Link IT! Program. Link IT! is a transition-based training and demonstration program for youth with disabilities, aged 14 - 21, leaving the high school system. Through this program, students can increase their knowledge of Assistive Technology as they enter higher education, employment and community living. ATRC collaborates with other agencies, academic counselors, and employment related-organizations, such as Abilities Unlimited and Vocational Rehabilitation, to provide well-rounded transition-based services. "Through Link IT! ATRC collaborates with the Department of Education, private schools and employment related programs. These programs will provide students with valuable knowledge and resources to assist with the move from high school to other areas of life." said Barbara Fischlowitz-Leong, ATRC executive director.
