Windows 7 & Accessibility |
|
|
is here!
ATRC is ready to provide individualized and small group demonstrations on Windows 7 accessibility by appointment.
Windows 7 has significantly improved accessibility. The Magnifier now includes a lens mode and full-screen mode. The On-Screen Keyboard can be resized to make it easier to see and includes text prediction. Windows 7 also gives you more ways to interact with your PC by taking advantage of new strides in speech recognition and touch technology. Interested? For more information go to the following website: http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/windows7/
Please call Kevin at 808-532-7115 or email kevin@atrc.org for more information or to request a demonstration. |

DynaVox Wrap-up |
|
Thanks to all who attended the DynaVox demonstration on November 17th. Attendees were privy to a wealth of information and resources, as well as personal attention from Bruce Fleming, AAC consultant from Dynavox.
Bruce demonstrated many devices for persons with difficulty communicating that ranged from the Dynavox Express, which is a portable 5-by-7 inch device, to the VMax, which boasts a large screen and supports eye gaze technology through the EyeMax system.
As the regional consultant for Hawaii, Bruce will be back! Look for more information about future demonstration events with Dynavox and Bruce Fleming on our website: www.atrc.org or go to DynaVox website: http://www.dynavoxtech.com
We would like to thank Bruce for all his work in Hawaii! |
| Festival of Giving Thank You |
|
ATRC says MAHALO to those who supported us by participating in Windward Mall's Festival of Giving.
On November 14 and 15, shoppers who purchased a $5 ticket from ATRC used their ticket to receive special benefits, including store discounts, gifts-with-purchase, food samples, and door prizes!
ATRC raised over $600 from the ticket sales. We received 100 percent of the proceeds generated by ticket sales, thanks to Windward Mall.

Camera Mouse 2010 Free Download Now Available |
|
How often can you get something for free? The creators of Camera Mouse developed this free program to help people with disabilities who do not have reliable control of their hands but who can move their head to use the computer.
Camera Mouse works as a mouse replacement system for Windows computers so it should work with just about any application program. Camera Mouse must be downloaded to your computer, works best with application programs that require only a mouse and a left click, and that do not have tiny targets. It's easier to use Camera Mouse with application programs that do not require extreme accuracy.
What equipment is required? A Windows 7, Vista, or XP computer system and a standard USB webcam (or a webcam built into the computer or monitor). To download this free program, go to:
