Kristin Loyd visited the MRCCN in June and provided an overview of thier organization.

Stillwaters is a community-based, nonprofit organization providing professional psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support for persons with cancer and those who love them.

All Stillwaters services are free and are available for those affected by cancer at any stage of the illness.

Stillwaters also offers services to family members, including children and caregiving spouses and partners.

Proceeds from that event have been earmarked for the Medical College of Wisconsin Digestive Disease Center for colon cancer research and the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds for colon cancer awareness, early detection and patient care.

Dan Petereit is a radiation oncologist at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He is the principle investigator for an NCI funded Clinical Disparities Research Grant for Native Americans, and leads several other clinical trial initiatives for Gynecologic, Prostate, Lung and Breast cancer; with expertise in gynecological and other cancer treatments such as Brachytherapy.
 
Dr. Petereit has academic affiliations at both the University of South Dakota Medical School and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, maintaining a role as an Assistant Professor in our Department of Radiation/Gynecologic Oncology.

On June 22, Jammin' 98.3 WJMR will turn over the airwaves for 12 hours in a row, unprecedented by any Black radio station in Milwaukee, to educate, motive and encourage listeners to do their regular checkups, provide information on insurance, talk about preventative care and topics too numerous to mention. 
 
From 9am to 9pm celebrity DJ Darryn hopes to help make Milwaukee more healthy as he uses his celebrity status to share his personal story with cancer to reach our listeners.  This is basically a radiothon encouraging and educating listeners for 12 hours in a row on how to live longer.

The Cancer Health Disparities Initiative is pleased to announce the publication of "Trends in Cancer Health Disparities Among African Americans and Whites in Wisconsin," on the CHDI website.

This publication represents the first major results report from CHDI's ongoing Wisconsin Cancer Health Disparities Surveillance Project.

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) is a voluntary consortium of organizations learning and working together to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare for the people of Wisconsin.
