Proceeds from Dairy Queen treat will benefit Children's Miracle Network Aug. 5
|
The Dairy Queen of Aliso Viejo is inviting customers to purchase one of its Blizzard Flavor Treats on Thursday, Aug. 5 and all Blizzard sale proceeds that day will benefit Children's Miracle Network, which benefits area children's hospitals.
For more than two decades, international Dairy Queen has supported Children's Miracle Network raising more than $81 million.
The Dairy Queen of Aliso Viejo, which is located at 27782 Aliso Creek Road, will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. that day.
"We hope the locals will come in and support this incredible program," said store owner Marilynn Andrews. "Customers can purchase delicious Blizzards and at the same time give something back to a seriously ill child ..."
The store has its own miracle on staff. Local teen McKenzie Henderson was hired as a part-time Dairy Queen worker in May 2008. Born with Spina Bifida, she had numerous surgeries at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. She knows first hand how important these hospitals are and shares with others the support she received during such trying times. Marilynn says McKenzie has a positive attitude and is now happily back at work and excited to support this special event on Aug. 5.
